Children And Their Super Heroes

“My son sleeps with Benton’s watch in his hands”. “My daughter won’t have food until she sees Mr. Bean”. You may have come across such (proud) comments or complaints of some mothers. Cartoons are definitely a part of entertainment. But addiction to cartoon is not at all a good thing. The over addiction to such super heroes affect children in many ways.

According to psychologist, a 12 year old child should have sensible thoughts. But, it is found that in children who are addicted to such super heroes will have a low rate of sensible thinking. He will be after the superhuman qualities of the super hero and may try to imitate him. Using the dressing pattern and accessories may later turn to empathy.

Slowly the personality of the super hero starts masking child’s own personality. This may lead to the development of attacking habits, rebel nature and dangerously adventurous nature. Watching cartoons just for the sake of entertainment is definitely not dangerous. Problem lies in addiction to these characters. Children who regularly interact with these electronic characters may be shy when they interact with other persons. Some children will not be satisfied with the small episode of cartoon in the TV channels. They may try to download the cartoon from internet. This will affect them physically and mentally.

Lack of proper exercise will make them unhealthy and obese. It is not that all the children who watch cartoons develop these problems. Usually children like fast moving scenes. Parents can prevent this to a greater extant. A fixed span of time should be allotted to see cartoons. Don’t allow the child to see cartoons for long time for his betterment.

Today’s Entertainment Industry

Entertainment industry is the biggest money spinner in today’s world of information and technology and in fact it is much bigger than many other core industries such as agriculture, mining, etc. Why is entertainment such a big industry in terms of money and material growth? This is because people of today, especially the youth are more attracted and interested in films, songs, music, pornography and other such temporary means of entertainment. In fact there was a saying by Pluto which is very relevant in today’s entertainment industry and it says

“Those who tell stories rule the society”. So entertainment industry is all about stories, gossips, affairs, divorces and what not. While it generates huge sums of money and perhaps even employs lot of people, in a majority of the cases it spreads negativity and bad elements amongst the society, especially young teenage population. In fact, how badly does entertainment industry affect the perceptions about a country and its people can be gauged from the general opinion that people have about USA as a country. It is shown to the outside world by the entertainment industry to be a nation of jealous people who are all bothered about making money and indulging in acts of immorality like infidelity, pornography and child sex.

In fact it is also widely believed amongst a wide section of the population outside USA, especially in Asian countries that every household in America has a divorce to show. This is far from reality and all this negative image is being spread around thanks to entertainment industry. While entertainment industry cannot be wished away just because it is not living up to the expectation of a section of people, a lot can be done to manage perceptions better. It should come out and participate more aggressively in spreading a more positive image about the entertainment industry.

Fishing on the Boise River

The Boise River lies only an hour away from Boise, Idaho and offers fishermen of all ages a challenge and some of the best fishing around. The river has a wide variety of fishing opportunities on each of its three forks that break off to the south, north and down the middle. For fly fishing, there is no better spot, and you can cast wide and clear without being crowded out by other anglers. The most visited fork is the southern one, which is full of the bigger fish. On this bend, anglers are limited to using only smaller hooks and fake lures.

The early spring and summer are the best times to get your drift boat out on the water, as the level of the water is high enough to accommodate the boat. Throughout the year, the area is full of insects that the fish love to feed and grow on, which helps to increase your chances of netting a prize winning trout. If you love to cast your line into a quiet stream, you will want to head over to the North Fork. This area is home to a number of smaller tributaries that make for excellent fishing. The Middle Fork takes a combination of the previous two, and a good fly will help you hook the trout you want.
